TIM LONG

A qualified Solicitor, Tim Long spent six years in private practice in Southampton before joining Visualfiles, the UK's leading legal case management supplier. Although specialising in property whilst in practice, Tim had overall responsibility for developing and maintaining the firm's SolCase case management system.

Whilst at Visualfiles, Tim managed the design and development of many of Visualfiles' clients systems and rose to the position of Legal Product Director with overall responsiblity for the development of the suite of legal applications. Tim believes that in his time at Visualfiles he has experienced most areas of mainstream legal practice and has had the opportunity to examine the approach of many different firms to the changing legal market place. Tim is also a PRINCE2 qualified project manager.

Since leaving Visualfiles, Tim has been involved in a range of IT projects from pure development of systems, to development mentoring, system analysis and design, project management and project management mentoring through to strategic IT reviews. Tim also has particular experience with products such as php, apache, mysql, vb.net and xsl/xml.

Tim also has a particular interest in integration and has developed a range of small bespoke “add-ons” for a number of clients to help integrate existing systems. Tim is based in Southampton.
